Terms & Conditions

Minimum Stay

Cabins: 2 nights
Lodges: 7 nights (exception will be considered by management)

Damage Deposit

Damage deposit of $200 is due at Check in. The deposit is for security and shall be refunded within 14 days of the Checkout Date provided no deductions are made due to:

  • damage to the property or furnishings
  • dirt or other mess requiring excessive cleaning
  • any other cost incurred by DSLR due to Renter's stay
  • Keep the property and all furnishings in good order

If the premises appear dirty or damaged upon Check-in, Renter shall inform Host/Manager.
(checks will be held and not cashed unless damage or charges are applicable, Credit Cards will not be charged unless damage or charges are applicable.)

Reservation Deposit

minimum of 50% of total rental charge is due within 14 days of receipt of contract

Cancellation Policy

If Renter wishes to cancel his/her reservation, the deposit will be refunded as follows:

  • 100% refund if cancelled 90 days prior to the Check-in Date minus a $25 administrative fee
  • 50% refund if cancelled 60-89 days prior to the Check-in Date
  • No Refund of Deposit if cancelled 0 - 60 days prior to the Check-in Date

Check In

  • Checking is daily from 3pm to 6pm
  • Arrangements can be made for late check in (please call)
  • Early checks in are not available
  • At check in the following will be required:
    • Balance due
    • Names and ages of all Renters
    • Make/Model of cars and Plate number (2 max)
    • ID of person signing contract
    • Signature for acknowledgement of Terms and Conditions

Checkout

  • Check out is 10am
  • Late Checkout is available for a fee of $50 per unit
  • Please turn the heat down to 58°F in the winter, and please turn the A-C up to 85°F in the summer
  • Please lock all doors and close all windows
  • Place the keys and parking passes on kitchen table next to comment book

Office Hours

10 to 6 (Mon – Sat) and Noon to 4 (Sundays).

Smoking

Smoking is allowed outside only.

Visitors

Please inform your visitors to follow our visitor policy.

  • All visitors must register in the visitor's log located in the office
  • Additional charge for Day stays (leaving prior to 10pm) is $5 for persons 10 and older. (under 10 stay free)
  • Additional charge for overnight stays is $15.00 per persons10 and older. (under 10 stay free)
  • These fees have been established to monitor resort capacity. Please follow our check-in policy.

If you neglect to register your visitors, you will automatically be charged the overnight fee.

Pets

We are a pet friendly resort!

  • The Pet Addendum must be completed.
  • There is a $5 per pet per night fee
  • Max 2 pets per rental

Tents

Tents are allow at the resort

  • Tents are allowed to be used at a charge of $45 per night per tent
  • This fee covers 2 additional Renters per rental
  • Placement of tents must be approved by management
  • Quiet hours must be observed

Watercraft

We offer several watercrafts free of charge for our Renter to use including canoes, peddle boats and row boats. We also have several boats available for rent. Everyone must wear a lifejacket when using ANY of the resort watercraft. (We provide Lifejackets free of charge, they are located in the Lifejacket house on the beach).

  • Must be 18 years of age or older to operate a rental boat
  • All children under the age of 16 must be directly supervised by an adult
  • All resort watercraft (except the rental boats) must stay within sight of the resort and must be returned PRIOR to dark.

We ask that you respectfully use your watercraft (boat, wet bike or jet ski) and to be aware of morning quiet hour. Our docks are for your use, please be respectful of swimmers and other boaters when coming and going from dock area. ALL state watercraft operating laws must be adhered to during you stay.

There is a public boat launch area 200 yards to the south of the property that is free of charge.

Campfires

Protect Our Trees From Bad Bugs – Don't Move Firewood

We offer firewood at $15 per bundles – bundle includes enough for full night plus a starter kit

Thanks for doing your part to save Minnesota's trees by leaving firewood at home. It's the right thing to do... For more information on how firewood restrictions are affecting state parks and recreation areas, call the MNDNR Information Center at (651) 296-6157 or Toll Free at 1-888-MINNDNR.

Campfires in rings only and must never be left unattended. Please burn nothing more than wood or charcoal. Firewood is available for purchase at the office for $15 per bundle. Please do not burn garbage.

All fires must be out by 11pm to observe quiet hours.

Accidents, Illnesses, Damages and Losses

All of the units are privately owned; the owners are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises or its facilities. The Homeowners are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the Renter. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all Renters are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premise.

Quiet Hours

11pm to 8am. Please observe these times for the enjoyment of everyone. All fires must be out by the start of Quiet Hours.

Appliances

Only use appliances for their intended uses, contact management for any appliances not working properly.

Parking

  • Parking passes are located inside the unit.
  • Renters must display parking pass on the rear view mirror at all times.
  • Failure to display may result in towing of vehicle at renter's expense.
  • Leave the parking passes inside the unit upon departure.
  • Vehicles are to be parked in designated parking areas only.
  • Parking on the service road is permitted.

There is additional "overflow" parking on the north section of the Resort designated by signs. Any illegally parked cars are subject to towing; applicable fines/towing fees are the sole responsibility of the vehicle owner.

Housekeeping and Cleanup

There is no daily housekeeping service. While linens and bath towels are included in the unit, daily maid service is not included in the rental rate. We suggest you bring beach towels. We do not permit towels or linens to be taken from the units.

  • Please clean up your cabin/lodge inside and outside upon departure.
  • Put your trash & recycling into receptacles located near your cabin/lodge
  • Wash dishes, strip bed sheets into pillow cases and drop off in ramp located at main office (look for sign), sweep and vacuum floors, soak any stained items, write any issues that you had in our comment book located in the property
  • clean up pet waste
  • Charges may be applied to Damage Deposit refund if property is left excessively dirty

Water and Septic

The property is on a well and septic systems. The mineral content in the water is high. During a drought, the well water may have an odor. The septic system is very effective; however, it will clog up if improper material is flushed. DO NOT FLUSH anything other than toilet paper. No feminine products should be flushed at anytime. If it is found that feminine products have been flushed and clog the septic system, you could be charged damages of up to $200.

Storms

No refunds will be given for storms.

In the event of tornado watches or other severe storms, shelter is available in following designated areas:

  • Basement of Virginia Lodge
  • Basement of Main Building/Office accessible thru ramp

Fireworks

No fireworks are allowed on resort property. We ask that you NOT shoot off any fireworks on the resort premises. Doing so may be grounds for immediate eviction. We provide a fireworks display every 4th of July.

Child Supervision

Parents, you are responsible for your children. The use of our game room, playground, beach and bathroom facilities are there for everyone. Please observe them when using these facilities.

Fishing and Fish Cleaning

We have all species of fish here Sand Lake.

All state fishing regulations must be observed during your stay, check at office for state regulations booklets if needed. Be sure your fishing license is up to date along with any boat requirements.

Please clean all fish at our Fish Cleaning Table located next to our dock house. We provide ziplock bags for your use. Please clean up after you are finished and place all waste in dumpster or garbage bins located away from the beach (no one likes the stench of rotting fish).

Problems or Issues

Problem must be brought to the attention of your host during normal office hours of 10am and 6pm (M-Sat) and Noon to 4pm (Sun). (Except for emergencies).
